Food & Bioproducts Technology

The Food & Bioproducts Technology Group develops innovative ingredients, process technologies and products from research into food and bioresources chemistry, bio-extracts, and food and bio-based materials engineering. The Group links directly to the wider food and bioproducts innovation networks across the country. The Group is also developing a strong track record in helping the food industry implement FSANZ nutrition and health claims, and manages the New Zealand Food Composition Database in partnership with the Ministry of Health.

Our researchers are based at three sites - Lincoln, Palmerston North and Auckland.
