Plant & Food Research works with research organisations and industry partners worldwide to enhance the economic and environmental sustainability of plant and marine-based food production systems.
Plant & Food Research is delivering outcomes to industry through our extensive list of commercial clients, through which our science is implemented. We work with partners in the horticulture, agriculture and arable sectors to develop the tools and technologies required for their continued success.

Plant & Food Research maintains key collaborations with leading environmental footprinting organisations and scientists with life-cycle assessment skills worldwide.
Our international networks keep us up to date with the latest developments in science, field practices, supermarket eco-strategies and environmental regulations. We are also part of New Zealand’s Sustainable Land Use Research Initiative (SLURI), partners in the New Zealand Life Cycle Management Centre, the New Zealand Climate Change Centre, the National Land Resource Centre and the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre. We also belong to the international Water Footprint Network.
