Kiwifruit New Cultivars

Our Kiwifruit New Cultivars Group coordinates the kiwifruit breeding programme, using our experience and fundamental science knowledge to develop new cultivars with characteristics desired by both producer and consumer. The Kiwifruit Crops Group uses genetic and genomic information to screen our germplasm collection for key traits and selects parents and offspring with commercial potential.

The Kiwifruit Crops Group is based mainly at four sites – Auckland, Te Puke, Kerikeri and Motueka.
