The seafood industry makes a vital contribution to New Zealand's economy, with exports of more than $1.3b annually. Fish forms an important part of the New Zealand diet, with nearly all New Zealanders eating fish at least once a month and almost half of us eating fish at least once a week. As a country, New Zealand also controls the fourth largest EEZ in the world, with marine fisheries waters around 24 times larger than our land area.
The 6th Annual Seafood Processing and Preservation Workshop will once again share the latest research developments as well as updates from industry experts, as it addresses the most important current issues affecting seafood industry managers, technical staff and researchers.
The one-day event will feature international and New Zealand experts speaking on topics such as seafood safety, supply chain management, quality assessment and new processing applications. Registration is now closed.
